Kurt Xander Cabural for Track and Field

We can barely see Kurt Xander Cabural walking around the school campus. He was a bashful type of person, but with his friends, he is outgoing and approachable. We can also notice that he doesn’t want to socialize with other students. Until his sport “track and field” helped him get the chance to come out of his shells and share his skills not just inside the walls of our school but possibly inside and outside the track. He even said that playing the sport  running requires self-confidence, “Running requires self-confidence” in order to have an extraordinary performance.

Cabural trained himself after he was chosen as the school’s representative for Track and field and running to compete for district as well as the division meet. He also mentioned during our interview that, “We need to sustain the heat of the sun so that during the competition, it wouldn’t be tough for us to run in the track.” He also admits that the training was so stressful. As an interviewer and a fellow Asianista, I am also proud that he valued and  cherished the sport which also gives honor to the school.

Xander Cabural showcased his skills through out the course of the event, owing to the fact that he earned various medals. During district meet, he earned 3 medals  (silver, bronze, and gold) while during the Division meet, he garnered 3 silvers and 1 bronze.

And because of his achievements he was given the opportunity to  be the torch bearer during the ACT– Bulacao Intramurals 2018. His family is definitely so proud of him that they also posted pictures of him at the social media. He hasn’t also been this proud of himself seeing his hard work in each picture.

Cabural really deserves the chance to  compete in the CVIRAA. It’ll be a lot of pressure but for sure he can do it. He still trains himself more compared to his previous condition because this competition is going to be more challenging.

We are so very proud of what you are into now, because the old “shyish” Xander is different now, but  that change is for the better. Just continue to strive harder until you can reach success. Tie your shoes tighter and run in the right path.

The running events for the district and division meets were held  at the Minglanilla Oval. Because of his skills, numerous students, teachers and coaches saw his potential at running. And for sure, the students who had been chosen are those great and aspiring ones.

Xander said that running is already important to him now because it is the very sport that is helping him know himself more.
