Say NO to STRESS

How hard and stressful can it be being a teacher? Well, we all know that every teacher needs students. And by students I mean, that’s a lot to handle. But how stressful would it be if at the same time you’re a mother? Just imagine, you need to wake up in the morning to prepare things not just for yourself but for the whole family. After that, you got to go to school and do a lot of paper works other than teaching. How are you going to survive everyday with those things?

According to Google, when you are stressed, you are having a tension or having some kind of pressure. But how can teachers at the same time mothers define stress and most of all handle stress in their lives? How can they  prevent stress?

One of the best teachers in Asian College of Technology and also a mother, a Bachelor of Secondary Education Major in Social Science is Mrs. Jacqueline B. Sampaga. She has served the school for 16 years. And until now, she teaches students with full confidence and grace.

Miss Jacque as we like to call her is not just a mother for her children but also a mother to her students. Advising them is one of her talents. Giving students inspiring messages for them to reach out and work hard for a better future. She is also a great performer. She sings and dances during school activities as part of the Faculty Performances. She also takes care of the Supreme Student Government, a leadership organization. And at home, one of her hobbies is cooking. That is why generally, she is multi-talented.

Even though she’s busy as a mother, still she cooks and cleans the house. She manages time and making sure that everything is settled. That is why time management is so important for her.  “Being a mother and at the same time a teacher is not that stressful. I don’t find it too stressful and it’s a matter of time management. Managing time is so important not just in being a mother to my children but a mother  to my students as well.”, she said.

She may not be stressed totally but still the word for her is there. There are times that she also encountered problems that gave her pressure. But when that happens, she drinks a cup of coffee, watch a movie, sit and think of nothing else. That is why she continues to live life like a teenager—CHILL.

Miss Jacque really likes teaching. That is why her service of teaching is still counting as we speak. Though teaching is a big sacrifice because as a teacher you’re children are now more in numbers than you can imagine , still her gorgeous smile shines and has never faded. “Do things one at a time.”, she said.

Everyone has his or her own kind of stress reliever. Though some may be stressed but some also just define stress as their challenge for the day. But for Mrs. Sampaga, time management is the best thing to acquire in order to prevent so much stress. So, what’s yours?

You only live once. Even though you got a lot of work to do, you should always remember that you always need  time and space for yourself not just to express but to feel free at one moment.
