The Juniors win big in the Badminton events during the 2017 Intramurals last March 9, 10, and 13, 2017.
Grade 9 athletes Claire Aso, Shaq Villoga, and Emilio Bontia won Singles A Girls and Singles A and B Boys respectively in a series of heated hits between sets. Claire Aso lost to Carmen Bansig, Freshmen, during the 1st set with a score of 11-12. Aso was able to steal the game during the 2nd and 3rd set with 11-2 and 11-8. “At first I was so nervous before we started the game, I really thought I was going to lose,” Claire said. She also gave a message to all athletes who wish to stop trying to get the gold. “Just put faith in yourself and believe that you can still win.”
The Freshmen dominated against the Juniors in Doubles Girls and Boys represented by Chrisha Tadios, Dave Deguinon, Dan Ballares, and John Jacobe. The Ballares and Jacobe duo had a very close fight with Dominic Ceballos and Vince Barimbad during the 2nd set with a score of 12-10. Dan Ballares said their victory felt like winning the lottery. Tadios and Deguinon defeated Janille Obana and Jeneva Salutis with a score of 11-6, 11-7.
