STARLIGHT by Dominic Ceballos

It has been an amazing ride,
Acting all foolish and loosing our pride,

We seem not to care about the people who judge us,
All we do is laugh and take the midnight bus,

Pointing out starlight and questioning about love,
On our nights we wonder to the lights above.

For each time we are together, love starts running low,
We know for a fact that time is our greatest foe.

We still enjoy our company, holding each other's hands,
Despite the lack of emotions in our appearance.

But as we feared, the day has come for us both,
As all things always have to embrace to an ending.

Is this the end, the limit, and the breaking of the sacred oath?
And our hearts are too broken even by mending?

Still, you are the starlight I question about love.
Were you sent by the angels above?

ACT EXCELS IN TALISAY CITY WRITERS' TRAINING

Ten High School Asianistas made it to top 10  during the Talisay City Writers' Training held at San Roque Elementary School last August 8, 2015 Saturday.

There were 16 categories but only 14 had a competition since photojournalism only had lecture since not all participants brought their camera in as much as not all of them printed their photos.

So we are only left with news, feature, sports, editorial, and science writing; editorial cartooning; copyreading and headline writing; each with Filipino and English medium.

Only 13 Asianistas competed out of 14 since there was no representative for sports writing- English.

The Freeman acted as trainors of the young and potential journalists of Talisay City Division.

The following are the students who are in the top ten, their category and their rank respectively:

The morning session was for the Freeman journalists and the afternoon session was already manned by Talisay City Division trainors who participated in the Media Festival.

NUTRIWALK 2015

Assembly time was 4:30 AM at Gaisano Tabunok. There are a lot of participating schools both public and private. Asian College of Technology was one of them. Parade started at 5:00 AM from Gaisano Tabunok to Talisay City Central School.

It was a long walk going there however participants enjoyed walking. We arrived in Talisay City Central School at 6:00 AM, where students shouted off their cheer for each school.

There was a program prepared as the participants reached their destination. Our Mayor, Jhonny V. De Los Reyes shared a wonderful speech for everyone. Barangay officials participated in the events too as we walked inside the campus of the Talisay City Central School grounds.

Drums and trumpets were played  in front and during the march. Traffic enforcers guided our way as we walked past roads, sidewalks and  houses. Citizens, along the streets and some in their cars watched us walk as we passed by them.

Students were talking about this event, the program ended with a loud cheer as the schools were called. One of the Barangay officials ended the program with a closing remarks.

Grade 7: Jingle Inter-level Champions

Grade Seven
July 29, 2015, Wednesday –It was a close fight between all competing levels, but the Freshmen rose as champions, the Seniors as second placers, the Juniors in third, and the Sophomores as last in the Inter-level jingle competition.
The Grade 7, who were the last performers,  dressed themselves as chefs and boomed their voices from the mezzanine, bearing a variety of photos of fruits and vegetables. They marched up to the stage, joining their fellow participants, and sang all the way.
Grade Eight
“The freshmen displayed a much clear message and as well as voice quality. They maintained the wow factor throughout their whole performance,” Sir Jason Rabi III, a grade school teacher and one of the judges, said.
The first performers, the Grade 10 circled around a time travel concept, reliving their past jingles from when they were Freshmen, Sophomores and Juniors. They all assembled in
Grade Nine
the quadrangle as ninjas and chanted. They transitioned again to the lobby, then back to the quadrangle for their finale.
“The routine was not quite synchronized and the concept was unique though far from the theme,”Mrs. Monaliza Binagatan, the school nurse and one of the judges, said.
The Grade 9, who were the second performers, showcased a concept that was based on the popular android game, Clash of Clans. Girls dressed in green and boys in blue hoods, the juniors poised as archers and wizards determined to eliminate body fats.
“Concept-wise, it was nice and their choreography was smooth and clear. But, they were playing safe in the routine,” Sir Rommel Alvarez, the competition’s tabulator, said.
The third performers, the Grade 8 centered on
Grade Ten
zumba to fight obesity and control weight. In their jingle, a young, obese boy danced zumba, following the lead of the sophomores’ Pabebe Girls, in an attempt to normalize his weight and be healthier.
“On and off energy, but the voice quality was there.” Sir Rommel said.

2015 Nutrition Month: Jingle Intersection

July 20, 2015, Monday –Bearing the nutrition month theme, “Timbang Iwasto

sa Tamang Nutrisyon at Ehersisyo”, high school students, dressed in different costumes in accordance to their themes, gathered in the lobby to represent their section’s jingle for the intersection competition.
The first performers, the Grade 10 Perseverance showcased a theme which focused on children in a mental institution, escaping nurses providing shots with huge injections.
Grade 8 Integrity followed with their James Bond concept, all equipped with black vests.
The third performers, the Grade 9 Prudence circled around a juvenile gangster concept, with blue bandanas tied around their foreheads.
Grade 7 Courage followed, dressed in dark pants and polo shirts, sang in unison for their choir theme.
The fifth performers, the Grade 8 Unity performed a lively zumba concept which centered around a young, obese boy clinging to exercise to lose weight.
Grade 10 Fortitude, all in different colors and face paint, focused on the elements and meditation to promote a peaceful mind and a healthy body.
The seventh performers, the Grade 9 Justice, dressed in all black and face tattoos, came in as rebels in their jingle.

Grade 7 Loyalty, the last performers, entered as chefs cooking up healthy, nutritious food.
“I chose Perseverance. They had a concept that I didn’t expect. All were having fun because their juvial expressions fit in with their concept,” Khylle Cabusas, a jingle participant from Grade 9 Justice, said when he was asked on which performance struck him the most.
“Basically, any concept would fit as long as it matches the personality of the dance and the performers,” he added.
Grade 10 Fortitude, Grade 9 Justice, Grade 8 Unity and Grade 7 Courage rose as victors of the intersection jingle competition.
Each high school level now has to prepare for the interlevel jingle completion, which will be held next Thursday, July 30, 2015. The first placer will have to perform in the nutrition month culminating activity.

“I feel that we can do it because we want to win, and also because it is our last year in high school.” Marie Cairo, a Grade 10 jingle participant, said when she was asked on what the Grade 10 would do for the interlevel competition.

Quiz Bee: Ika-3 Diwang Sagisag Kulturang Filipinas Kompetisyon

Venue: Cansojong National High School
Gaya nga ng kasabihan sa Ingles ‘Too much information running through my brain, too much information driving me insane.’
Khayla Carreon

THE BEGINNING by Dominic Ceballos

There is something I have deep within my heart,
I felt it surging and growing right from the start,
Just like the powerful thunders in the sky,
Lights me up and pains me to cry,

And like the roars of the ocean slamming into shore,
I scream your name unlike ever before,
But no matter how loud I Could Try to scream,
I would never be the man that You have always dreamed,

But no matter how it pains me to tell
You how hard I had fell,
Fell madly inlove with you with the purest heart,
You never knew how much I loved you from the start
