July
20, 2015, Monday –Bearing the nutrition month theme,
“Timbang Iwasto
sa Tamang Nutrisyon at Ehersisyo”, high school students, dressed in
different costumes in accordance to their themes, gathered in the lobby to
represent their section’s jingle for the intersection competition.
The
first performers, the Grade 10 Perseverance showcased a theme which focused on
children in a mental institution, escaping nurses providing shots with huge
injections.
Grade 8 Integrity followed with their James Bond concept, all
equipped with black vests.
The
third performers, the Grade 9 Prudence circled around a juvenile gangster
concept, with blue bandanas tied around their foreheads.
Grade 7 Courage
followed, dressed in dark pants and polo shirts, sang in unison for their choir
theme.
The
fifth performers, the Grade 8 Unity performed a lively zumba concept which
centered around a young, obese boy clinging to exercise to lose weight.

Fortitude, all in different colors and face paint, focused
on the elements and meditation to promote a peaceful mind and a healthy body.
The
seventh performers, the Grade 9 Justice, dressed in all black and face tattoos,
came in as rebels in their jingle.
Grade 7 Loyalty, the last performers, entered
as chefs cooking up healthy, nutritious food.
“I
chose Perseverance. They had a concept that I didn’t expect. All were having
fun because their juvial expressions fit in with their concept,” Khylle Cabusas, a
jingle participant from Grade 9 Justice, said when he was asked on which
performance struck him the most.
“Basically,
any concept would fit as long as it matches the personality of the dance and the
performers,” he added.
Grade
10 Fortitude, Grade 9 Justice, Grade 8 Unity and Grade 7 Courage rose as
victors of the intersection jingle competition.
Each
high school level now has to prepare for the interlevel jingle completion,
which will be held next Thursday, July 30, 2015. The first placer will have to
perform in the nutrition month culminating activity.
“I
feel that we can do it because we want to win, and also because it is our last
year in high school.” Marie Cairo, a Grade 10 jingle participant, said when she
was asked on what the Grade 10 would do for the interlevel competition.
